We will take you on a journey around the globe to find the best sailing spots chosen by nautical enthusiasts. Discover the personalities of the athletes that prepare themselves both physically and mentally to overcome the struggles faced in the upcoming Olympic Games.

Welcome to the first episode of Inside Sailing 2019! Our journey starts in the United States with the PANERAI Classic Yachts Challenge. Then we head east to visit Asia for two unique sailing events - The FAREAST 28R World Championship and the Optimist Asian and Oceanian Championship.
Finally, we get the chance to experience sailing in Greece's crystal clear waters with the popular Catamaran's Cup.
This month we are following the 2019 RSX European championships. The 2019 RS:X European and Youth European Championships which are being held on the island of Mallorca, Spain, is a record turn out for the RS:X Class with 333 confirmed entries from 43 different nations representing six different continents over five days of racing. But this is not a challenge for the RS:X Class and the athletes but also for the local host Club Nautic Arenal.
In this episode, we visit Asia for the Royal Langkawi International Regatta on Malaysia's west coast. Then we move south to Desaru Coast, one of Malaysia's most anticipated tourism developments for the KTA Hydrofoil Series.
To end this trip in Asia, we follow the action with the EFG Sailing Arabia - The Tour organized by Oman Sail.
This month the journey starts from the Caribbean at the island of Saint Maarten for the 39th Heineken Regatta. Staying on the west of the Atlantic wand will move north to Miami for the popular Bacardi Cup that gets celebrated in american waters.
Changing scenery again, we head to Asia for the Mussanah Race Week. Final stop for this month’s trip around the world is Europe and Marina di Villasimius, where the 2019 sailing season organized by Melges Europe is about to begin. We are ready to follow their season and the amazing action these boats have to offer.
We start our journey in Spain, visiting a truly world-class regatta: the 50th Trofeo Princesa Sofia Iberostar. Then we move to Montenegro for the 44 Cup that enters a new era under a new brand name but still has the top sailors competing in this high-performance event. After, we change scenery and dive in the crystal clear waters of Villasimius in the 2019 Melges 20 World League. These speedy boats offer unique moments at the 1st event of the European Division.
We could not end this trip vefore watching the historical Dragon boats in action. This all-time classic started their tour from Cannes and it proves to be an amazing experience.
In this month’s episode we visit Villasimius, Italy, for the one and only GC32 racing tour. Staying in a foiling mood we will then move to Lake Garda for the 2019 Pascucci Formula Kite World Championship. This year’s event is extra special as it will be the first event since Kite Formula became an accepted sport for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Next, we will visit majestic Palma for the breathtaking 2019 RS:X Europeans and Youth European Championships. To end this month’s show, we will visit Long Beach in California for the fourth Congressional Cup.
We start our journey in Great Britain at the venue that held the sailing disciplines at the 2012 Olympic Games: the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy. Here, some of the best sailors in the world have gathered for the Volvo 49er, 49erFX and Nacra 17 European Championships.
Staying with the Olympic classes, next, we will follow the 470 European Championships in Italy’s San Remo. Following this event, we will leave behind the sea and move inland to experience sailing on a lake. The mesmerising Lake Maggiore in Switzerland hosted the second edition of the EUROSAF Club Sailing European Championships and we decided to stop by and capture all the action. Finally, we visit Weihai, China to follow the 2019 Hobie 16 Asian Championship.
We are in Lagos, Portugal’s Algarve, for another stop of 2019 GC32 World Championship. This is the second event for this year and everything is still in the open. Moving from here, we’ll focus on one of the big teams in global sailing, Oman Air as they attempt once again to dominate the GC32 scene. Then we will move to Rovinj for the Adris 44Cup that came back to this great city after 2012.
We will also follow the action in one of the most popular one-design Olympic class, the 2019 Laser Senior European Championships & Open European Trophy. Finally, we get the chance to experience sailing in combination with luxury. The Superyacht Cup Palma reached its captivating conclusion with 14 yacht masterpieces to compete in one epic race giving us the chance to admire these impressive examples of nautical design and technology assembling.
We begin our trip in this episode in Palma de Mallorca with the hottest foiling action and the latest GC32 Racing Tour event. Once again, these flying catamarans were invited to be part of the 38th Copa del Rey MAPFRE, and we've joined to see the latest action.
Then, we will focus on one of the most successful teams on this Tour, Oman Air. Both Oman Air and Oman Sail know how to dominate the sailing scene and we’ll follow their latest challenge in the 2019 Tour Voile.
We will start from USA, New York where one of the most historic clubs in the world, New York Yacht Club hosted its biennial regatta, the Rolex New York Yacht Club Invitational Cup. Then, we move to Asia for one of the most important events of 470 class, the 2019 470 World Championship.
Finally, ending our trip around the world we will take you to St. Petersburg in Russia for the 2019 RS:X Youth World Championship where over 100 competitors from all over the world have gathered to claim the title.
We begin our journey on Italy’s Lake Garda with the hottest foiling action and the latest GC32 Racing Tour event, the GC32 Riva Cup. After the spectacular GC32 we stay with high performance yachts and we travel to Cascais in Portugal for the 44Cup.
Then, we’ll take you to Turkey for the 2019 Turkcell Platinum Bosphorus Cup. Finally, we get the chance to admire the historic Dragon boats in action. The International Dragon 90th Anniversary Regatta brought together teams from all over the world in order to celebrate and compete in these beautiful boats.
We start our last episode in 2019 in Muscar for the 5th and final even of the 2019 GC32 Racing Tour, the GC32 Oman Cup. Next, we will stay in a foiling mood and we will stay in Asia in order to follow the action at the 2019 Kitefoil World Series, in Weifang Binhai.
Staying in Kiteboarding we will travel to Italy to take in the 2019 Formula Kite European Championships, hosted on the sandy beach of Oristano Gulf. Closing this trip around the world and closing our inside sailing journey for 2019 we will travel to Greece in order to dive into the beautiful Aegean Sea at the 23rd Rodos Cup, one of the most well-known cruising and racing events.
In this month’s episode, our first for 2020, we start our journey from the north Italy and Lake Garda where more than two hundred thirty athletes gathered for the 2019 RS:X Windsurfing World Championships. Then, staying in the Mediterranean Sea we’ll take you to the breathtaking Palma de Majorca following the fifth and final event of the 2019 44Cup.
Later, we will leave Europe in order to move to Asia for one unique and epic event. The Belt and Road Sailing Regatta 2019 is the first month-long sailing event which connects China, Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia. We are here to capture all of the action. Staying in Asia we will travel to South Korea in order to witness all of the action from the prestigious Yisunsin Cup International Yacht Race 2019.
Finally, we will take you back to Europe for one of the most stylish sailing events in Greece, the 10th Catamarans Cup.
This time we will take you to the east coast of China, to the Fujian province and the island of Pingtan host to the third stop of Kitefoil world series. Staying in Kite Foiling we will then change continent and we will move to Gizzeria in Italy for the 2019 Kite Foil World Series.
From Italy we head back to China and to the southwestern Guangdong Province, Yangjiang. This is the place where the 2019 “Nimble Cup” Asian Windsurfing Championship and the national Kiteboarding Championship took place. Finally, we will travel back to Europe and visit Palma for the fourth and final event of the Dragon European Cup circuit.
In this episode we will take you to Oman to follow the prestigious EFG Sailing Arabia - The Tour which is now in its tenth year. The region’s annual premier offshore race is a firm winter favorite for many world class sailors. After that, staying in the Arabian Peninsula we will move to Bahrain to witness all of the action in the 2019 Kingdom Match Race. This also was the final round of the Super League Match race.
Finally, we will take you to Europe for the final of the 2019 Kitefoil World Series. The magnificent Cagliari in Sardinia is an established sporting destination. Watersports are the specialty ofthe town, and the big final was just thrilling.
In this episode we will start our sailing journey from Miami, the cultural and financial center of South Florida in the United States. This area is well known for its beaches and laid-back vibe, and also for hosting the 93rd Bacardi Cup. Then, from the United States we will travel to Australia to follow the 2020 RS:X Windsurfing World Championships. The event attracted a fleet of 116 sailors who gathered to challenge for the World Championship titles. Let's find out more!
In this episode we start our sailing journey from Malaysia. The Road & Belt Royal Langkawi International Regatta is one of the most prestigious events on the islands. This year, Malaysia's award-winning marina, Royal Langkawi Yacht Club has welcomed thirty boats across seven different classes and more than a hundred sailors for the first Asian regatta in 2020.
Then, we leave behind the exotic island of Langkawi to discover the most epic shots from the world of foiling. High speed and adrenaline combine to provide the most impressive moments, and we've picked our top ten.
In this episode, we take a look at how the how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected athletes and events around the planet. The GC32 Racing Tour has been fast to adapt and already started planning a future event. The GC32 Lagos Cup in Portugal has been moved to the end of August, the first stop in 2020.
Later on, we take a look at how last season’s GC32 Racing Tour unfolded, witnessing some of the best scenes in the world of sailing.
Our journey starts this time with the wrapping up of the following 44Cup, a well-established series that is highly regarded in the sailing industry. Among the teams and sailors it attracts, Team Aqua and Peninsula Petroleum are the most loyal ones on the tour.
Our next stop takes us to the leading kitefoiler, Florian Gruber who will explain how the COVID-19 virus has affected his daily routine. He would normally spend his time flying around the globe competing in the world's top events, however this is not the current reality. The final stop for this episode includes the top ten moments of GC32 Racing Tour.
On this month’s show, we will learn how Covid-19 has affected the sailing industry and how one of the top sailing event organizers, Christian Scherrer of the GC32 Racing Tour has faced this exceptional situation. After, we will get to know Vasileia Karahaliou, a Greek laser radial sailor who qualified for the 2020 Summer Olympics, and find out how she spends her days in Athens.
Finally, we will have the chance to meet British windsurfer Tom Squires as he prepares to live out his big dream by competing in the next Summer Olympic Games.
In this month’s episode our first stop will be Marseille, for the 2020 L30 EUROSAF European Champion Title. After that we will change continent and we’ll head to Korea where the 2020 Southern Coast Cup International Yacht Competition was co-hosted by three cities and provinces.
Later, we will move to Greece in order to follow the 57th International Aegean Sailing Rally, a regatta with a long history, organized every year by the Hellenic Offshore Racing Club. While in the crystal-clear Aegean waters, we’ll head to Thessaloniki for a very competitive event. Many of the best yachts from Greece participated at the National Championships of Offshore Sailing.
On this ocassion we travel to the Swiss Alps, concretely to the Engadin Valley. The upper part of the valley, at around 1800m is a magical place for tourism and both winter and summer sports. Vanora ENGADINWIND by Dakine, is one of the most famous watersports events in the world: a unique windsurfing festival that includes freestyle action.
Then, we will head to Italy’s Genoa in order to focus on L30 class following the 2020 EUROSAF Mixed Offshore European Championships. Some of the continent’s best sailors put in their best performances in a bid for the title and we were there to capture all of the action.
In this month’s episode we will start our journey at Lake Traunsee in Austria following the 2020 Formula Kite Mixed Team Relay European Championships. Next, we travel to Greece in order to follow an inaugural regatta for traditional boats, Oceanida, organized by Attica Region and Nautical Club 78.
After that, we are going to have a closer look to one of the oldest Olympic boats, the 470 class and focus on the Dutch 470 sailor Afrodite Zegers.
This is the last episode for 2020, so we have recollected the best action in Austria. At Lake Attersee the 2020 Forward WIP 49er, 49erFX & Nacra 17 European Championships are taking place, and the fastest Olympic classes have been tested to their limites in this event.
Next, we move to Portoroz in Slovenia for the 2020 Optimist European Championships. More than two hundred sailors across five different categories have gathered to compete, and we are ready for top-leveled sailing. Finally, we head to China and the Shanghai Yacht Club for a world class youth sailing competition.

We start our show spending some time with Crotian elite sailor Sime Fantela. He is the 2016 Olympic Champion in 470 who is preparing hard ahead of the Tokyo Olympics where he hopes to win another gold, this time in the 49er class. Then, we will turn our attention to KiteFoiling and meet another leading athlete: the Frenchman Axel Mazella. We will learn about his life and dream to compete in the 2024 Olympic Games that will take place on home waters, in Marseiiles.

In this episode, we will take you to Gaeta in Italy, for a glimpse of what we hope will be some of the future stars of the sport. Youth sailors from around the world will be looking to impress at the first stop of the Liberty Bitcoin Cup. This event is a revolutionary series that promises many a breathtaking moment and we were there to capture all of the action.
After that, we will focus on one of the greatest international yacht racing tours, the 44Cup. After a twelve months rollercoaster due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the 44Cup is back and ready to launch in 2021 with two new venues and a full fleet of nine boats. Class Manager Bertrand Favre will introduce us to the new racing year which is due to start next month.
Finally, we will meet Sebastien Schneiter, skipper of Team Tilt and Olympic sailor. He’ll be representing Switzerland in the men's 49er class at this summer’s Tokyo games.

In this month’s episode we will first take you to Austria, for the highly anticipated opening event on the European Freestyle Pro Tour, the 2021 EFPT Surf Opening. This took place in Neusiedl am See and 28 riders from 9 nations competed in freestyle and tow- in competitions.
After that we will move continents and head to San Francisco in the United States, to hear from one of the most remarkable figures on the kiteboarding scene, 4 times world champion Daniela Moroz. She shares her personal success story as her sport, kiteboarding, prepares itself to become an Olympic sport at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Finally, we'll showcase some of the already established Olympic classes: the 49er, FX and Nacra 17. Athletes battled for the last few remaining spots for this year's games in Tokyo at the European and African Olympic Qualifiers, held in Lanzarote, the Canary Islands.

Coming up in this month's episode, we'll start our journey in Slovenia for the hottest action in the opening race of the 2021 44Cup. From here we travel to Porto with The Finn Gold Cup that returns for the third time to Portugal in its 65-year history. Finally, we will move to Switzerland to learn more about the world's most important inland lake regatta, the Bol D'or Mirabaud. This time, Lake Geneva will welcome monohulls and multihulls racing 66,5 nautical miles from Le Bouveret and back.
