We will take you on a journey around the globe to find the best sailing spots chosen by nautical enthusiasts. Discover the personalities of the athletes that prepare themselves both physically and mentally to overcome the struggles faced in the upcoming Olympic Games.

Welcome to the first episode of Inside Sailing 2019! Our journey starts in the United States with the PANERAI Classic Yachts Challenge. Then we head east to visit Asia for two unique sailing events - The FAREAST 28R World Championship and the Optimist Asian and Oceanian Championship.
Finally, we get the chance to experience sailing in Greece's crystal clear waters with the popular Catamaran's Cup.
Our journey starts visiting two of the very best kiteboarding spots in Europe and Asia. We will catch up all the action in Pingtan, China, at the 2nd leg of the 2018 KiteFoil World Series and the TwinTip Racing Chinese National Championships. Afterwards, we move to the well-known Sardinia Kiteboard Grand Slam at the amazing Poetto Beach.
Following the KiteFoil World Series we turn our attention to big boats. We travel to Cyprus and Greece for the ORC European Championship and the Aegean Regatta. These are two top notch events that attract the top sailors.
In this episode, we visit Asia for the Royal Langkawi International Regatta on Malaysia's west coast. Then we move south to Desaru Coast, one of Malaysia's most anticipated tourism developments for the KTA Hydrofoil Series.
To end this trip in Asia, we follow the action with the EFG Sailing Arabia - The Tour organized by Oman Sail.
This month the journey starts from the Caribbean at the island of Saint Maarten for the 39th Heineken Regatta. Staying on the west of the Atlantic wand will move north to Miami for the popular Bacardi Cup that gets celebrated in american waters.
Changing scenery again, we head to Asia for the Mussanah Race Week. Final stop for this month’s trip around the world is Europe and Marina di Villasimius, where the 2019 sailing season organized by Melges Europe is about to begin. We are ready to follow their season and the amazing action these boats have to offer.
We start our journey in Spain, visiting a truly world-class regatta: the 50th Trofeo Princesa Sofia Iberostar. Then we move to Montenegro for the 44 Cup that enters a new era under a new brand name but still has the top sailors competing in this high-performance event. After, we change scenery and dive in the crystal clear waters of Villasimius in the 2019 Melges 20 World League. These speedy boats offer unique moments at the 1st event of the European Division.
We could not end this trip vefore watching the historical Dragon boats in action. This all-time classic started their tour from Cannes and it proves to be an amazing experience.
In this month’s episode we visit Villasimius, Italy, for the one and only GC32 racing tour. Staying in a foiling mood we will then move to Lake Garda for the 2019 Pascucci Formula Kite World Championship. This year’s event is extra special as it will be the first event since Kite Formula became an accepted sport for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Next, we will visit majestic Palma for the breathtaking 2019 RS:X Europeans and Youth European Championships. To end this month’s show, we will visit Long Beach in California for the fourth Congressional Cup.
We start our journey in Great Britain at the venue that held the sailing disciplines at the 2012 Olympic Games: the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy. Here, some of the best sailors in the world have gathered for the Volvo 49er, 49erFX and Nacra 17 European Championships.
Staying with the Olympic classes, next, we will follow the 470 European Championships in Italy’s San Remo. Following this event, we will leave behind the sea and move inland to experience sailing on a lake. The mesmerising Lake Maggiore in Switzerland hosted the second edition of the EUROSAF Club Sailing European Championships and we decided to stop by and capture all the action. Finally, we visit Weihai, China to follow the 2019 Hobie 16 Asian Championship.
We are in Lagos, Portugal’s Algarve, for another stop of 2019 GC32 World Championship. This is the second event for this year and everything is still in the open. Moving from here, we’ll focus on one of the big teams in global sailing, Oman Air as they attempt once again to dominate the GC32 scene. Then we will move to Rovinj for the Adris 44Cup that came back to this great city after 2012.
We will also follow the action in one of the most popular one-design Olympic class, the 2019 Laser Senior European Championships & Open European Trophy. Finally, we get the chance to experience sailing in combination with luxury. The Superyacht Cup Palma reached its captivating conclusion with 14 yacht masterpieces to compete in one epic race giving us the chance to admire these impressive examples of nautical design and technology assembling.
We begin our trip in this episode in Palma de Mallorca with the hottest foiling action and the latest GC32 Racing Tour event. Once again, these flying catamarans were invited to be part of the 38th Copa del Rey MAPFRE, and we've joined to see the latest action.
Then, we will focus on one of the most successful teams on this Tour, Oman Air. Both Oman Air and Oman Sail know how to dominate the sailing scene and we’ll follow their latest challenge in the 2019 Tour Voile.
We will start from USA, New York where one of the most historic clubs in the world, New York Yacht Club hosted its biennial regatta, the Rolex New York Yacht Club Invitational Cup. Then, we move to Asia for one of the most important events of 470 class, the 2019 470 World Championship.
Finally, ending our trip around the world we will take you to St. Petersburg in Russia for the 2019 RS:X Youth World Championship where over 100 competitors from all over the world have gathered to claim the title.
We begin our journey on Italy’s Lake Garda with the hottest foiling action and the latest GC32 Racing Tour event, the GC32 Riva Cup. After the spectacular GC32 we stay with high performance yachts and we travel to Cascais in Portugal for the 44Cup.
Then, we’ll take you to Turkey for the 2019 Turkcell Platinum Bosphorus Cup. Finally, we get the chance to admire the historic Dragon boats in action. The International Dragon 90th Anniversary Regatta brought together teams from all over the world in order to celebrate and compete in these beautiful boats.
We start our last episode in 2019 in Muscar for the 5th and final even of the 2019 GC32 Racing Tour, the GC32 Oman Cup. Next, we will stay in a foiling mood and we will stay in Asia in order to follow the action at the 2019 Kitefoil World Series, in Weifang Binhai.
Staying in Kiteboarding we will travel to Italy to take in the 2019 Formula Kite European Championships, hosted on the sandy beach of Oristano Gulf. Closing this trip around the world and closing our inside sailing journey for 2019 we will travel to Greece in order to dive into the beautiful Aegean Sea at the 23rd Rodos Cup, one of the most well-known cruising and racing events.
In this month’s episode, our first for 2020, we start our journey from the north Italy and Lake Garda where more than two hundred thirty athletes gathered for the 2019 RS:X Windsurfing World Championships. Then, staying in the Mediterranean Sea we’ll take you to the breathtaking Palma de Majorca following the fifth and final event of the 2019 44Cup.
Later, we will leave Europe in order to move to Asia for one unique and epic event. The Belt and Road Sailing Regatta 2019 is the first month-long sailing event which connects China, Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia. We are here to capture all of the action. Staying in Asia we will travel to South Korea in order to witness all of the action from the prestigious Yisunsin Cup International Yacht Race 2019.
Finally, we will take you back to Europe for one of the most stylish sailing events in Greece, the 10th Catamarans Cup.
This time we will take you to the east coast of China, to the Fujian province and the island of Pingtan host to the third stop of Kitefoil world series. Staying in Kite Foiling we will then change continent and we will move to Gizzeria in Italy for the 2019 Kite Foil World Series.
From Italy we head back to China and to the southwestern Guangdong Province, Yangjiang. This is the place where the 2019 “Nimble Cup” Asian Windsurfing Championship and the national Kiteboarding Championship took place. Finally, we will travel back to Europe and visit Palma for the fourth and final event of the Dragon European Cup circuit.
In this episode we will take you to Oman to follow the prestigious EFG Sailing Arabia - The Tour which is now in its tenth year. The region’s annual premier offshore race is a firm winter favorite for many world class sailors. After that, staying in the Arabian Peninsula we will move to Bahrain to witness all of the action in the 2019 Kingdom Match Race. This also was the final round of the Super League Match race.
Finally, we will take you to Europe for the final of the 2019 Kitefoil World Series. The magnificent Cagliari in Sardinia is an established sporting destination. Watersports are the specialty ofthe town, and the big final was just thrilling.
In this episode we will start our sailing journey from Miami, the cultural and financial center of South Florida in the United States. This area is well known for its beaches and laid-back vibe, and also for hosting the 93rd Bacardi Cup. Then, from the United States we will travel to Australia to follow the 2020 RS:X Windsurfing World Championships. The event attracted a fleet of 116 sailors who gathered to challenge for the World Championship titles. Let's find out more!
In this episode we start our sailing journey from Malaysia. The Road & Belt Royal Langkawi International Regatta is one of the most prestigious events on the islands. This year, Malaysia's award-winning marina, Royal Langkawi Yacht Club has welcomed thirty boats across seven different classes and more than a hundred sailors for the first Asian regatta in 2020.
Then, we leave behind the exotic island of Langkawi to discover the most epic shots from the world of foiling. High speed and adrenaline combine to provide the most impressive moments, and we've picked our top ten.
In this episode, we take a look at how the how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected athletes and events around the planet. The GC32 Racing Tour has been fast to adapt and already started planning a future event. The GC32 Lagos Cup in Portugal has been moved to the end of August, the first stop in 2020.
Later on, we take a look at how last season’s GC32 Racing Tour unfolded, witnessing some of the best scenes in the world of sailing.
Our journey starts this time with the wrapping up of the following 44Cup, a well-established series that is highly regarded in the sailing industry. Among the teams and sailors it attracts, Team Aqua and Peninsula Petroleum are the most loyal ones on the tour.
Our next stop takes us to the leading kitefoiler, Florian Gruber who will explain how the COVID-19 virus has affected his daily routine. He would normally spend his time flying around the globe competing in the world's top events, however this is not the current reality. The final stop for this episode includes the top ten moments of GC32 Racing Tour.
On this month’s show, we will learn how Covid-19 has affected the sailing industry and how one of the top sailing event organizers, Christian Scherrer of the GC32 Racing Tour has faced this exceptional situation. After, we will get to know Vasileia Karahaliou, a Greek laser radial sailor who qualified for the 2020 Summer Olympics, and find out how she spends her days in Athens.
Finally, we will have the chance to meet British windsurfer Tom Squires as he prepares to live out his big dream by competing in the next Summer Olympic Games.
In this month’s episode our first stop will be Marseille, for the 2020 L30 EUROSAF European Champion Title. After that we will change continent and we’ll head to Korea where the 2020 Southern Coast Cup International Yacht Competition was co-hosted by three cities and provinces.
Later, we will move to Greece in order to follow the 57th International Aegean Sailing Rally, a regatta with a long history, organized every year by the Hellenic Offshore Racing Club. While in the crystal-clear Aegean waters, we’ll head to Thessaloniki for a very competitive event. Many of the best yachts from Greece participated at the National Championships of Offshore Sailing.
On this ocassion we travel to the Swiss Alps, concretely to the Engadin Valley. The upper part of the valley, at around 1800m is a magical place for tourism and both winter and summer sports. Vanora ENGADINWIND by Dakine, is one of the most famous watersports events in the world: a unique windsurfing festival that includes freestyle action.
Then, we will head to Italy’s Genoa in order to focus on L30 class following the 2020 EUROSAF Mixed Offshore European Championships. Some of the continent’s best sailors put in their best performances in a bid for the title and we were there to capture all of the action.
In this month’s episode we will start our journey at Lake Traunsee in Austria following the 2020 Formula Kite Mixed Team Relay European Championships. Next, we travel to Greece in order to follow an inaugural regatta for traditional boats, Oceanida, organized by Attica Region and Nautical Club 78.
After that, we are going to have a closer look to one of the oldest Olympic boats, the 470 class and focus on the Dutch 470 sailor Afrodite Zegers.
This is the last episode for 2020, so we have recollected the best action in Austria. At Lake Attersee the 2020 Forward WIP 49er, 49erFX & Nacra 17 European Championships are taking place, and the fastest Olympic classes have been tested to their limites in this event.
Next, we move to Portoroz in Slovenia for the 2020 Optimist European Championships. More than two hundred sailors across five different categories have gathered to compete, and we are ready for top-leveled sailing. Finally, we head to China and the Shanghai Yacht Club for a world class youth sailing competition.
We start in South Korea in order to follow one of the three major yachting competitions in Asia. We will be taking in all the action at the Yisunin Cup international Yacht Race. We will also cover the 2020 Busan Super Cup International Yacht Race and learn more about leading Greek RS:X athlete Byron Kokkalanis. Discover the character behind the athlete and be part his preparations for the Tokyo Olympic Games.
In this month's episode, we'll head to Playa de las Burras in Spain's sunny Gran Canaria in order to follow the hottest action at the 2020 KiteFoil European Championships. Then, we will travel to Austria and focus on one of the leading European kite foiling teams: the Polish squad. Finally, we will leave Europe and head to Australia for the legendary Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race.
We start our show spending some time with Crotian elite sailor Sime Fantela. He is the 2016 Olympic Champion in 470 who is preparing hard ahead of the Tokyo Olympics where he hopes to win another gold, this time in the 49er class. Then, we will turn our attention to KiteFoiling and meet another leading athlete: the Frenchman Axel Mazella. We will learn about his life and dream to compete in the 2024 Olympic Games that will take place on home waters, in Marseiiles.
In this episode, we will take you to Gaeta in Italy, for a glimpse of what we hope will be some of the future stars of the sport. Youth sailors from around the world will be looking to impress at the first stop of the Liberty Bitcoin Cup. This event is a revolutionary series that promises many a breathtaking moment and we were there to capture all of the action.
After that, we will focus on one of the greatest international yacht racing tours, the 44Cup. After a twelve months rollercoaster due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the 44Cup is back and ready to launch in 2021 with two new venues and a full fleet of nine boats. Class Manager Bertrand Favre will introduce us to the new racing year which is due to start next month.
Finally, we will meet Sebastien Schneiter, skipper of Team Tilt and Olympic sailor. He’ll be representing Switzerland in the men's 49er class at this summer’s Tokyo games.
In this month’s episode we will first take you to Austria, for the highly anticipated opening event on the European Freestyle Pro Tour, the 2021 EFPT Surf Opening. This took place in Neusiedl am See and 28 riders from 9 nations competed in freestyle and tow- in competitions.
After that we will move continents and head to San Francisco in the United States, to hear from one of the most remarkable figures on the kiteboarding scene, 4 times world champion Daniela Moroz. She shares her personal success story as her sport, kiteboarding, prepares itself to become an Olympic sport at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Finally, we'll showcase some of the already established Olympic classes: the 49er, FX and Nacra 17. Athletes battled for the last few remaining spots for this year's games in Tokyo at the European and African Olympic Qualifiers, held in Lanzarote, the Canary Islands.
Coming up in this month's episode, we'll start our journey in Slovenia for the hottest action in the opening race of the 2021 44Cup. From here we travel to Porto with The Finn Gold Cup that returns for the third time to Portugal in its 65-year history. Finally, we will move to Switzerland to learn more about the world's most important inland lake regatta, the Bol D'or Mirabaud. This time, Lake Geneva will welcome monohulls and multihulls racing 66,5 nautical miles from Le Bouveret and back.
Coming up in this month’s episode we’ll start our journey in Sweden. The most regularly visited venue in the 44Cup has been the picturesque island of Marstrand on Sweden’s west coast and this year the fleet returned for the 2nd stop of the 2021 series. Some intense battles took place and we were there to capture all of the action.
Next, from Sweden, we will take you to Sardinia and the glamorous seaside resort of Porto Cervo for the Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta 2021. After that, we will move to Spain and to one of the most renowned and fabulous islands in the western Mediterranean. Marking its 25th anniversary, Europe’s longest-running superyacht regatta set sail in the majestic waters of Mallorca.
Finally, we will take you to Switzerland to follow all of the action from the world’s greatest lake regatta. With more than 450 sailboats registered and 2,000 crew, this year’s edition was memorable and epic. The field was extremely tough, with notably the first appearance of TF 35 hydrofoil catamarans, as well as numerous other innovative and spectacular sailboats.
In this month's episode we travel to Portugal for one of the most thrilling sailing circuits, the GC32 Racing Tour. The perfect foiling conditions of Lagos have already hosted the tour with great success in the past two seasons. Then, we will stay in a foiling mood but we travel from Portugal to Italy's Lake Garda for the latest action in the Liberty Bitcoin Moth Cup. The lake's constant windy conditions are perfect for these agile and fast boats, setting the scene for highly competitive racing.
Finally, we move to Hang Loose Beach, Gizzeria - a top destination for watersport enthusiasts and the regular host of the Kite Foil World Series season opener. Let's go check it out!
This month's episode starts in Portugal, Lagos, for the incredible GC32 Racing Tour. The city puts much passion into organizing events here, and yacht racing is no different. From Portugal we will move to the UK and to the Isle of Wight for exciting racing in the Solent. The opening day of the 44Cup in Cowes clacked sunshine, but it made up for it with super close racing.
After Cowes we move to Italy for the recently hosted 69F Youth Foiling Gold Cup, and we will be staying in Lake Garda to follow the 2021 edition of the WASZP European Games. Finally, we finish this episode in Lake Balaton, Hungary, at the EUROSAF L30 Class European Championship.
We start our episode in Switzerland, at the 2021 Vanora ENGADINWIND by Dakine and first ever World Championship for the iQFoil class held in Lake Silvaplana. Then, we move to Sardinia, Italy, for another windswept foiling event. The GC32 Racing Tour is now set for its third stop and we are ready for the action. Let’s start this month’s episode from the Arabian Peninsula! Oman hosted the 2021 Asian Windsurfing Championship and proved once again that it is a true paradise for such events. We will be immersed in the action before moving on to China for the 2021 Hobie Open Regatta.
From China, we now move to the Russian capital of sport, Kazan, to take in all the action from a very different watersport: MotoSurf. Finally, we move to Greece for the Evia Island Regatta, the 24th Rodos Cup, and the North Aegean Cup - GROHE.
We begin our adventure visiting Oman once again. This country on the Arabic Peninsula is associated with developing high-level sailing as the Oman Sail team and now they are elebrating the Mussanah Race Week, an event that promotes the value of learning from each other and improving through healthy competition.
Then, we move to China for another sailing event: the 2nd edition of the Yangtze River Delta Youth Sailing Cup. Afterwards we will fly all the way to Greece for the Aegean Regatta, hosted again at the southeastern end of the Aegean Sea. We stay in Greece for the European Freestyle Pro Tour before switching sports and welcoming kiteboarding to our show.

Let us begin this month’s episode by visiting Greece and the beautiful city of Thessaloniki, which played host to the 49er, 49erFX, and Nacra 17 European Championships. Just a few weeks after the Tokyo Olympics, it was time for the European champions to be crowned at the Nautical Club of Thessaloniki, beginning a new Olympic Cycle that will lead them to Paris 2024.
A couple of months after the European Championships, it was time for the World Champions to be crowned in the pinnacle event for these classes. Oman acted as the home for the 49er, 49erFX, and Nacra 17 World Championships. The level of excitement was massive as it was the first big, world event following the Tokyo Olympics.
Next, we stay in Oman for the country’s premier offshore race. Sailing Arabia – The Tour returned in 2021 for its 11th edition, with teams representing Oman and Europe racing at four venues along the nation's coastline in a combination of coastal raids and in-port races.
Finally, we return to Greece once more. The highly anticipated Hellenic Match Racing Tour returned in 2021 for its 7th edition. Eight of the best Greek crews gathered in the Yacht Club of Greece for a three-day event that would showcase the country’s sailing dynamics at its finest. Match racing has always been a format that creates extremely competitive races and nail-biting conclusions. This year, the crews were more than ready for the challenge.
Let us start this month’s episode from Oman, which acted as host to many major sailing events throughout 2021. The 2021 ILCA 6 World Championship took place at the Barceló Mussanah Resort where athletes gathered for some top-notch competition.
We stay in Oman for another world-class sailing competition. The world’s best young sailors showcased that the future of sailing is bright at the 2021 Youth Sailing World Championships.
Let us travel to Spain, and magnificent Lanzarote for the final act of the exciting 2021 44Cup season. After six months packed with action and intense competition, the seasoned teams locked horns with each other to be crowned champion.
From Spain, we head to Italy for another exciting event. The picturesque Gulf of Cagliari hosted the much-anticipated final act of the Persico 69F Youth Foiling Gold Cup. Next, we bear witness to one of Portugal’s most symbolic sailing events, the Lusíadas Saúde Porto Sailing 2021.
Finally, we set sail across the majestic Greek waters. The island of Skyros acted as host for another notable sailing event. The Chalkida Sailing Club, in cooperation with the Hellenic Sailing Association, hosted for the first time ever the Greek National ORC Cup.
Let us begin this episode in Spain! After an exciting season of foiling action and three breathtaking stops, Mar Menor hosted the final and decisive round of the fascinating 2021 GC32 Racing Tour.
We remain in Spanish waters, but switch to the sailing paradise of Lanzarote! The second edition of the Lanzarote International Regatta welcomed more than 140 sailors from over 30 countries, who fought it out in the Olympic classes of iQFoil, ILCA 7, 49er and 49er FX.
Let us now travel to France and experience what the Maxi Yachts have to offer! Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez was the largest gathering of Maxis in the world in 2021 with an incredible lineup that set the bar higher than ever.
From France, we head to Italy and the Poetto beach in Cagliari for the 2021 IKA KiteFoil World Series, where the greatest representatives of the International Kiteboarding scene competed.
Next, we set sail for Fuerteventura, in the magnificent Canary Islands, which provided the perfect backdrop for the fourth and penultimate act of the 2021 KiteFoil World Series.
Finally, let us enjoy some action from the European Freestyle Pro Tour event in Geneva, Switzerland.
Let’s start this episode with a series that has established itself through the year as key in the international yacht racing scene. A brand new season kicked off for the exciting 44Cup, promising to be better than ever.
We’ll have a chance to enjoy and learn more about a class making its Olympic debut at Paris 2024: the iQFOiL windsurfing class is a discipline progressing and growing all the time, with new stars emerging at each and every event. The best athletes in the class gathered in Club La Pelle in Marseille, France, for the 2021 iQFOiL European Championship.
Foiling action continues to impress us so staying with it, we now move to Torregrande, Italy. A total of 138 athletes, 89 men and 49 women from 34 countries and six continents took to the water for the Formula Kite World Championships, battling for the prestigious World titles.
Let’s now see how these skilled athletes fare in the World Series. After an incredible season full of emotion, the breathtakingly beautiful island of Gran Canaria, hosted the final act of the 2021 KiteFoil World Series.
Great level of performances, races that kept us holding our breath till the very last second, and a sense of fair-play created a blend that made this year’s KiteFoil World Series highly successful, and the next one as anticipated as ever.
So let’s start this episode following one of the most prestigious regattas in the world. The Bacardi Cup, with an impressive 95-year history, was back for another edition in the renowned sailing paradise of Biscayne Bay in Miami, USA. The Bacardi Cup continuously guarantees passion, drama and world class sailing in the revered Star Class and the sailing battles between top-level sailors are always highly anticipated
We’ll have a chance to enjoy the 15th edition of the Admiral Yisunsin Cup International Yacht Race which was held over five days in Tongyeong, South Korea, attracting some top-level sailors. Through the years, this event has grown in reputation and for this edition, it attracted 37 yachts with 292 athletes from 11 different countries. It was truely an international race, as its name claims, and it was also broadcasted online for those who wanted to enjoy the action from a far.
Another event, another discipline, another continent for Inside Sailing! The WASZP is the perfect platform to enjoy one-design foiling and the 2022 European Games took place in Europe’s biggest salt water lagoon, Mar Menor in Spain.
We leave competitive sailing aside to explore a remarkable journey in the Ionian Sea. An unforgettable flotilla holiday is on offer in Greece for families that visit the mythical island of Lefkada.
Let’s start this episode with the 44Cup that returned to the Portuguese sailing mecca of Cascais for the second event of the season. The RC44 fleet raced in this coastal resort town of Portugal, which is renowned for its northwesterly breeze. Next, the 44Cup will head to Marstrand, Sweden.
From Portugal we travel to Italy for the GC32 Racing Tour! The first event of the season that was hosted in Riva del Garda set the tone for what is about to follow; great sailing action, close battles and eager competitors.
We remain in Italy for the Formula Kite U21 and A's Youth Foil World Championships, that took place in Torregrande, Sardinia. The event offered top-level action and drama; the future is bright for these young athletes.
Finally, we set sail for Spain to enjoy more foiling action! The Gulf of Oristano welcomed an international group of elite young riders for the iQfoiL International Games. The level of competitiveness and difficulty was high.
