Ride to the roots is a simple format documentary series that focuses on athletes and artists. We will, almost literally, ride to the roots of these peculiar characters that have a unique upbringing, personal background, origin or past.
Each episode focuses on an athlete as they return to their hometown in an exciting and emotional trip down memory lane. Our protagonists will reunite with important people in their lives (family, friends, coaches, lovers), revisit key locations for their present situation (schools, training centres, homes, fields) and reveal exclusive personal skills, footage and recordings.
We will discover the moments that shaped their career as they ride a rollercoaster of emotions when remembering their childhood passion and how it transformed into their professional success.
Sometimes, it's difficult to jump off the platform. The feeling of fear never leaves you. Jonathan Paredes knows this and still decides to make the jump. On this journey, he goes back to his neighbourhood and meets his parents and the people around him when he grew up. Will he also be able to take the step and jump straight on to his childhood memories?
When you have the competition in your blood, there is never an end. You keep looking for more, for the adrenaline rush that comes with it and everyday you thrive to improve yourself. This is the mindset of Adriano de Souza, our protagonist in this episode of Ride to the Roots. He goes back to the favelas he grew up in. Will the happiness of reliving his childhood make him change his career path, or will it be a bigger motivation?
