The Olympic Sailing World Championship is the most important international sailing competition organized by the International Sailing Federation (ISAF). It has been held every four years since 2003, during the year prior to the Olympic Games.
In this championship, the regattas of the classes that will be Olympic in the following edition of the Games are disputed in the same venue; the best classified of each class obtain through this competition their qualification for these Games. The rest of the years, these classes hold their world championships separately, in different venues.
