Jules Verne’s novel Around the World in Eighty Days narrates the story of intrepid Phileas Fogg and his attempt to circumnavigate the world in 80 days to win a bet set by his friends back home. His adventures got many of us dreaming about doing this seemingly impossible task. However, we have it easier. There will be no need to bet or go through dangerous situations as the cruise company Fred Olsen is planning a trip around the world.

Set to depart 150 years after Jules Verne’s novel was published, the cruise Borealis jumps into the trend of navigating around the world in 80 days. Programmed for 2023 and without impediments from detective Fix, the Borealis will allow its passengers to enjoy time in each destination, with an itinerary that is worth of mention.

Mumbai, Hong Kong, Shanghai or San Francisco are some of the cities Fred Olsen’s cruise will visit. Martin Lister, responsible of the Destination and Planification of Itineraries of Fred Olsen claims the cruise will be “truly exceptional” as it will not only follow Fogg’s steps, but also create a completely new adventure. The cruise is prepared to stop in the Egyptian city of Safaga for the 100th anniversary of the discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb and in Japan in the perfect moment to grasp the beauty of cherry blossoms.

This will be the journey of our lives, we are very excited to bring our guests in this trip with us in 2023” concludes Lister regarding the Borealis trip around the world in 80 days.

We will still have to wait for a couple of years, but this fantastic trip around the world on board of the Borealis cruise is something we don’t mind waiting for.
