The Bass Strait is a strip of water that divides the Australian mainland from Tasmania. Knowing that wild storms make the strait twice as rough as the English Channel, sailors stand in awe of the strong currents.
In a death-defying act, two Aussies and a young Californian kneeling on their boards brave the 300 km/186.5mi paddle across the Bass Strait. Their adventure lasts several days with stops on small islands along the way. Apart from sharks, currents and threatening waves, win-or-bust Zeb Walsh, Brad Gaul and Jack Bark face sickness, sore muscles and dehydration.
Follow their journey on Nautical Channel.
