The results of Leg 4 make the overall standings even tighter ahead of the transatlantic leg. The 11th Hour Racing Team has won Leg 4 of The Ocean Race, leading the fleet to Newport, Rhode Island, their hometown.

In the final miles to the finish, 11th Hour Racing Team and Team Malizia were engaged in a tactical battle. Third-placed Biotherm is some 150 miles behind and has yet to reach the finish line, expected late this morning or tomorrow morning.

Throughout this fourth leg, which has lasted more than two weeks, the 11th Hour Racing Team and Team Malizia exchanged the lead more than a dozen times. In the end, Charlie Enright and his team took the final victory a few hours ago.

"This win means a lot to us," said Enright. "Timing is everything and to be able to get this result, at this stage, coming into our base in Newport is incredible. Everyone on the team completed a great role and did their part."

Today's results together with the withdrawal of the current leader of the standings make it very tight. The top three teams in the standings are just one point apart. And all this before the start of the transatlantic crossing on Sunday, May 21.
