The Bol D’Or Mirabaud is the most important inland lake regatta in the world. Taking place in Switzerland, a landlocked nation that sits on top of the sailing world with multiple successes whether in the Olympic, Offshore or in Grand Prix Racing formats, and champion of two America’s Cup victories. The race started in 1939 and it is a symbolic race that brings together the best of Switzerland’s sailing tradition.
Every year they welcome mono-hulls and multihulls on Lake Geneva, starting in the city of Geneva. More than 500 boats fight each other on this 123 kilometre (66.5 nautical miles) course from Geneva to Le Bouveret and back. It is a national treasure that every summer gathers thousands of spectators to the shores of Lake Geneva and really shows how the Swiss indeed do it better.
