Moana Waiwai follows the Free Swim journey of wahine (woman) Ally Davey as she takes on 70km of open ocean around the stunning Coromandel coastline to bring awareness to the protection of New Zealand’s oceans.
For over three days it does more than encapsulate stunning panoramas on the extraordinary scenario of New Zealand. It is also inspiring for people as we become aware of the natural beauty of the ocean so we can protect it before it is too late.
This is an inspirational film, not an activist propaganda, that highlights exploration and the intrinsic benefits of getting wet and looking below the surface. In Moana Waiwai Ally Davey will champion endurance of her human spirit in this seemingly impossible task to achieve a higher goal: protection of the oceans.
