Rowing through icy currents in the cold is not for the faint of heart. However, every year competitors jump into their canoes to race in the Ice Canoe Carnival Quebec. The Canoe Race is a legendary competition that has been held since the Carnival's first edition. When the Québec Winter Carnival returned in 1955, ice canoe racing became once again an important annual event, and is now awaited by many in the Canadian city.
