Venice Boat Show

Jun 05, 2023

The Salone Nautico Venezia, the fourth edition of the most important nautical fair in the Adriatic, is now over.

This year has been expanded compared to previous editions. It has had more than 200 exhibitors and 300 boats, of which 250 are on the water. Like other boat shows this year, the main theme was sustainability and the environment.

Among the more than 200 exhibitors, 180 are Italian and the rest come from places like UK, Croatia, Poland, Spain, Germany, France... and many more countries. All these exhibitors were, as the name suggests, on display in the historic area of the Arsenale, with 30,000 m² of outdoor exhibition spaces and 55,000 m² that are on the water, consisting of about 1,100 m of installed docks.

At this international nautical event we have been able to attend the presentation of large models of luxury boats. In addition, Italy's leading boat builders, Azimut-Benetti, Sanlorenzo and Ferretti Group, have many products on display at the exhibition.

One of the most anticipated and well-known is the Monaco-based luxury yacht brand Wally, which has introduced us to the new Wallywhy150. The initial presentation of the Wallywhy150 was in 2022, and it will be at the Cannes Yacht Festival in September 2023, when it will make its international debut.

"It is the simplicity and accessibility of the design that makes it so appealing to a wide variety of customers: it offers the ultimate flexible platform for those looking to expand the horizon of traditional planing boat use," says Luca Bassani, founder and director of Wally. As well as chief designer. "This is the first boat with direct access to the sea at cabin level without the need for stairs; it is effectively a floating loft on the water."

This year, just as the number of exhibitors has increased, so have the different types of boats. For example, in the case of sailboats, the number of brands that have wanted to participate in this edition has doubled compared to last year. Another of the things to highlight that also hunts perfectly with the main theme of the environment, is that the presence of electric boats has increased by 30%. For example, with the presence of boats powered by energy extracted from hydrogen fuel, among others.
