Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli won a very exciting 36th edition of the Prada Cup this past 21st of February. This final day of competition against INEOS TEAM UK was tough as the British competitors chased closely the current champions.

The Prada Cup final has left us with great races and an incredible final victory from the Italian team who finally won the title with a superb 7-1 victory. The final to the Prada Cup has been disputed between the 13th and 21st of February, and on the final day Luna Rossa displayed their sailing skills once again by winning their two remaining races for their victory.

INEOS TEAM UK began leading the competition on its final day but Luna Rossa was quick to overturn the situation and create a widening gap between the opponent crew and their team, making it highly improbable for the British contenders to recover. By the end of the second race, Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli crossed the finish line with a 56-second advantage, gaining their seventh victory in this final.

“It’s a great day for us and for Luna Rossa and it’s a great day for Italy. It was a tough Final and we are in for a very good fight in the America’s Cup.” Yelled Francesco Bruni at the camera after their victory.

Now the Italian team will have to prove their skills and face the Defender Emirates Team New Zealand in the America’s Cup Match, starting the 6th of March in a first to 7 competition.
